This is the first book that I have read by Jessica Lemmon and it definitely won't be my last!! I really loved this second chance romance book and the characters were all fantastic and left me wanting to know more about each and every one!! Evan & Charlie's story isn't an easy one, but it was beautiful and I loved every second of reading it.

Charlie is one of my favorite book heroine's! She lost her best friend, and with that, she lost a piece of herself. Evan helped her find that piece of herself that she was missing. There is just one BIG issue, Evan is her best friend's late husband. Charlie had such a big heart and a caring soul, and I want her to be my best friend. She wasn't treated right in the past and that has shaped how she thinks about certain things and how she takes in situations, but throughout this book, she is slowly letting that hurt and control go. Throughout this book, Charlie has to let go of the guilt and start living a happy life. Watching her go through all of this was beautiful and I loved seeing the depth of emotion that this book delved into.

Evan, oh my goodness, this man was swoon worthy!! Seriously, one of my favorite hero's in the book world!!! He was SO alpha, protective, an artist, such a dirty talker & loved his son. Evan seriously, made me swoon throughout the entire book. He never saw Charlie in more than a platonic way, but now he is and he wants her in his and his son's life, not just as Aunt Charlie, but as a mother figure. He wants her in his bed and by his side, and what Evan wants, Evan gets. He was patient with Charlie and never gave up on her. He showed her what true happiness is and I loved his relationship with his son. The passion between Evan and Charlie was off the charts HOT and I could seriously just melt into a puddle right now thinking about it!!

This book is by far one of my absolute favorite books of all time!!! Jessica Lemmon is an amazing writer and her writing just pulls you in and takes you on an adventure that will stat with you, always. This book is definitely going on my re read shelf and I can't wait to dive into the other books of this great series!!

WOW! This book was so sweet and emotional and totally took me by surprise. Bringing Home The Bad Boy by Jessica Lemmon is a lesson in grief and guilt.

Evan Downey's wife, Rae, died unexpectedly four years ago when she was only 26. Evan was very much in love with his wife and it has taken him forever to get over his grief. What helped was being the father that his son, Lyon, deserved. Between working and being a father he tried to keep his mind busy.

Charlotte "Charlie" Harris was Rae's best friend for many years. Her death was a shock to Charlie. Evan and Rae had always been close with Charlie and her then boyfriend Russell. Russell left Charlie after a relationship that lasted six years. He left her with a twisted view of relationships and low self-esteem. Shortly after Russ left Charlie he married another woman, that he had been cheating on her with. This other woman had children after he told Charlie he didn't want children.

Charlie started to develop a relationship with Evan and fell in love with Lyon. Evan and Lyon moved back to Evergreen Cove and only two doors down from Charlie. Then feelings started developing between them. Back when she was only 15 Charlie had a big crush on Evan and it was reigniting. It was hard at first for Evan to acknowledge these feelings but once he did he was all in.

Charlie was a different story. Rae had been her best friend and how could she feel anything other than friendship for Evan. She didn't want to be a fill-in Mom. She didn't want to fall in love with Evan. None of it was right in Charlie's mind. Evan kept telling her he was going nowhere. He would always be there for her. He would wait until she came around. But would she? Her grief and her guilt seemed to overpower her.

Towards the end of the book I shed many tears but they were all worth it in the end. This is a wonderful book....so, get reading!
This novel, my first encounter with Jessica Lemmon's work, basically cemented my imaginary bestie status with her. I knew from the first veiled Sons of Anarchy reference that I was going to love this author hard. Lemmon's pop-culture game is ridiculously on point; but, aside from her awesome ability to reference Gemma Teller-Morrow, Henry Cavill, and Sharknado all in the course of a couple hundred pages, she has the ability to weave a yarn that's so vivid and evocative it comes alive. She created the world of Evergreen Cove and this growing, changing, expanding group of friends that live beyond the pages of a book, and she does it in a refreshingly rhapsodic way.

There is a lyrical quality to Lemmon's writing that is so engaging, her voice fresh and undiluted; she's a master of her craft. She writes strong female characters, like Charlie, whose emotional journey is so authentic, which just endears the reader to her, and Gloria, who couldn't get her own shot at love soon enough. And the men -- er, bad boys, I should say -- SWOON. Evan Downey is... there are no words. Well, there are some, but none adequate enough to fully encapsulate the giant crush I have on this somewhat reformed bad-ass tattoo artist, talented artist artist, sexy single dad, who has moderate control over his alpha-caveman tendencies, and still hasn't outgrown his passion for public displays of racy art. Did I mention the sexy fingerpainting? And the Hangover Hash (only one of his drunken morning after remedies)? Lemmon writes insta-classic intimate scenes that will definitely incite the need for a cold-shower.

Ultimately, Evan and Charlie's story touched my heart and introduced an entire cast of characters (heyyyy there, Ash and Glo) and a location that I frequent often through the pages of Lemmon's incomparable Second Chance series. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. LOVEEEEEE Bringing Home the Bad Boy. It's must-read (and read and reread and reread again and again and again) material.
